Not all battle ropes are made the same! At Industrial Athletic we cover our battle ropes in a nylon sheath for increased durability, and less mess on the gym floor. High intensity interval training is one of the most effective forms of exercise, and battle ropes are a great addition to any HIIT circuit training workout where you can use either a double whip or alternating whip technique.
Performing battle rope whips as part of a gym training programme is beneficial in building upper body, abs, back and glutes. Incorporating other movements such as lunging, squats or jumps will add a lower body portion to your workout also. Gym ropes exercises greatly increase grip strength which is key across the board if you follow functional training regimes.
Grip strength can also be increased in use of kettlebells, which we have a full range available to purchase at Industrial Athletic.
Although our battle ropes include mounted and bolted alloy handles for extra security and grip, you may wish to use liquid or regular chalk to aid in keeping the rope from flying out of your hands mid-workout.
